Sakura Kinomoto est une petite fille de dix ans menant une vie tout à fait normale. Mais un jour, elle est attirée par un bruit dans la bibliothèque de son père, en cherchant l'origine du son, elle trouve un mystérieux livre "Le livre de Clow", qu'elle ouvre par accident. Elle laisse alors s'échapper accidentellement toutes les Cartes de clow qui s'y trouvaient. Par sa capacité à ouvrir le sceau du livre, Sakura découvre qu'elle possède des pouvoirs spéciaux et il est de sa responsabilité de récupérer les cartes dispersées. Elle devient donc la Chasseuse de Cartes...

Sakura Kinomoto is starting junior high school alongside her friends, including her boyfriend Syaoran, who had just returned to Tomoeda. After having a prophetic dream about a mysterious cloaked figure, all of the Sakura Cards turn blank and are rendered completely powerless, thus starting her quest to find out what is wrong. In doing so, Sakura and her friends, along with her guardians and protectors Cerberus and Yue, discover and capture the transparent cards, using the new and much stronger mystical dream key. Eriol, Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon appear as supporting characters, as does Kaho Mizuki, having returned to England, but continuing to aid Sakura and her protectors from afar. Sakura ends up befriending a transfer student named Akiho Shinomoto and meets her butler and guardian Yuna D. Kaito, from whom Syaoran detects vast amounts of magical power.

xxxHOLiC est l'animé en cross-over avec Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. Il nous relate l'histoire de la fantasque Yuuko Ichihara, la sorcière des dimensions, et de Watanuki Kimihiro, un jeune lycéen qui se voit contraint de travailler dans son échoppe pour qu'un jour elle se décide à le débarrasser des esprits qui le tourmentent. Watanuki est alors plongé dans l'univers étrange de Yuuko, qui lui dispense des leçons de sagesse et qui n'hésite pas une seconde à l'exploiter. Yuuko incarne la femme fatale : elle est désirable, intelligente et manipule les hommes sans aucune difficulté... Et Watanuki va en faire l'amère expérience. Mieux vaut-il être tourmenté par des esprits ou par Yuuko ? On se le demande bien !

At the dawn of time, the gods ruled the universe under the leadership of the mighty Tentei. But suddenly, the ferocious general, Taishakuten, appears, and destroys Tentei. Taishakuten declares that a new age has begun, and all who oppose him will die horribly. But legend says that a shimmering six-pointed star will rise into the heavens and restore the world to a golden age.
